This week, two of the most respected publications in the 3D printing space published articles about 3DSEARCH. For a solo project built by one person, this is a huge milestone — and I wanted to take a moment to share the news with you.
Fabbaloo: "A Very Clean, Modern Interface"
Kerry Stevenson, the founder of Fabbaloo and author of over 8,000 articles on 3D printing since 2007, wrote a detailed review of 3DSEARCH. He compared it directly to Yeggi, the long-standing meta-search engine for 3D models, and had this to say:
"It really isn't at all like Yeggi. 3DSearch has a very clean, modern interface with a lot of intelligence put into the design."
The article covers how 3DSEARCH works — searching across 8 platforms simultaneously, displaying results in a unified interface, and redirecting to the original source for downloads. Kerry also noted the cross-platform "Similar Models" feature and the community tools like ratings and collections.

3druck.com: "Meta-Suchmaschine durchforstet acht Plattformen"
3druck.com, the leading 3D printing publication in the German-speaking world (founded in 2011), published a feature article about 3DSEARCH in German, English, and Hungarian. The article highlights the key difference to existing search engines like Yeggi: 3DSEARCH focuses specifically on print-oriented platforms and avoids the problem of non-printable visual assets cluttering the results.
The article covers all eight indexed platforms — Thingiverse, Printables, Cults3D, MakerWorld, MyMiniFactory, MakerOnline, GrabCAD, and Creality Cloud — and mentions the current index of over 6.1 million models.

What This Means
When I started building 3DSEARCH, the goal was simple: search all the major 3D model platforms in one place, without opening six browser tabs. The fact that established publications are now recognizing the project tells me we're on the right track.
A few numbers on where 3DSEARCH stands today:
6.1 million models indexed
8 platforms searchable at once
26ms average search response time
6 languages supported
1 developer building everything
This wouldn't be possible without the users who search, share feedback, and spread the word. Thank you.
If you haven't tried 3DSEARCH yet, give it a spin at 3dsearch.net — and if you know someone who's always searching for the right STL file, send them our way.
Happy printing,
— Chris
