This is a 1:256 reduction gear set, fit into a 7 cm x 3 cm x 3 cm space, including the electric motor.
You can see the gearset working here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zm1V8iOTw9s
- To be able to place the gears in between the structure you will need to print the structure first and mount it on the motor box.
- The motor box is the main pillar, holding the structure together.
- You will need 2 mm diameter rods (as seen in the video).
- This is one of my first designs, I am sure there are lots of points of improvement. However, as-is, it is easy to print and assemble (if you have the rods, and a hot glue).
- It makes quite a lot of noise, because the bedding/bearing of the gears are quite primitive. This is a point for improvement.
- I designed the gears on rushgears website, downloaded STL file and merged / adjusted for the final use.
