It's a sad reality that as our pets get older they suffer the same ravages of age as we do. My oldest dog is suffering greatly from arthritis in her knees and hips. She has trouble walking, and frequently falls on our hardwood floors. (We've put rugs and carpet down everywhere we can.) Another unfortunate side effect is that she has a lot of trouble squatting, so she can't potty outside much any more. She tries to hold it, but has frequent accidents while she sleeps.
