My Dad dug out an old wooden train set circa 1972 for the grandkids to play with but found the chimney that served as the wind up key had broken. He called me to ask about what glue I would try after failing with several types himself. I told him to mail the whole train engine and broken key down and I'd either design and print a new one or find a way to fix the original. I spent some time with OpenSCAD and a half dozen test prints later, a replacement was made. Printing a few spares to go back with it.
The perfect color would be to use Makerbot's standard red ABS and then give it an acetone vapor bath which makes it turn the same orange color as the rest of the train parts (I have another print I did this to and the colors match) but I only have their fluorescent red ABS which I don't think will fade the same.
