My work bench is in dire need of a way to control the lighting and ventilation around it, and in the workshop itself.
The door is by the workbench, but the workshop light switch is half way down the wall - so very inconvenient to find in the dark.
The bench has white LEDs above, 12V seperately controlled, and a fan to blow away dust. The environment has connectivity to my home automation system, and to display real-time data I have a monitor, running from a Pi, which would be nice automated on/off when I'm in there.
I have designed a control panel, which attaches to a box containing an ESP8266, and some relays.
- OLED Screen from ESP8266 to display temperature/humidity and other info.
- 10mm PIR for local presence detection. Useful for on/off timings of monitors, lighting, fan etc.
- 4x 20.2mm panel mount rocker switches with LED;
--Workshop & workbench light
--Workbench fan
--Monitor on/off
--Auxiliary power outputs (may add later)
Naturally all of the above pro
