2020 Vibration Isolator

I tried the cantilevered isolator designs that other have posted, but was disappointed with the sag over time. To fix the sag problem I designed an isolator that uses a pair of hoops to provide flexibility. This design also provides a much more secure connection to the 2020 profile because it does not want to open up the clip as load is applied. You will need to use some force to install these as they are a tight fit to the 2020 profile.

This design will not isolate well if you print with stiff materials and I suggest the use of TPU or Ninjaflex instead. I used Sainsmart TPU, which seems to have a relatively high material damping coefficient and works well in this application. The base design is 40mm deep, so scale Z to tune the amount of stiffness, and therefore load bearing capability.
