21700 cell top contact guide

This guide is intended for LG's M50LT cells, and other similar 21700 cells, that have an indented top contact. This recess allows you to push the nickel into a dented form, where it's easy and reliable to spot weld onto the cells. It ideally supports 50 mm wide nickel and 7P configs, but I used it with 30 mm wide nickel since my 30 mm stuff was softer than my 50 mm nickel. I believe the 30 mm wide stuff was annealed.

Anyway. Print it, use it as a guide to cut your nickel, and push the nickel onto the dented form with the end of a sharpie, plastic stick or something like that. It worked great for me.

The two files are 3-wide and 4-wide, labeled based on the width of the nickel flange that can be bent on top of the cells (see second photo).
