The pins are used to hold bassoon reeds for drying. You can drill row(s) of 1/4 inch holes spaced far enough apart to grasp the reeds on the pins in a wooden base, or print the base (Reed_Drying_Rack.stl) which has a series of 6.4mm holes in it, to receive the pins.
