This prototype attachment and the prosthetic hand adapter it is designed for have been made in the engineering department at Seattle Pacific University. The objective of the piece is to allow single directional movement of a climbing rope in order to assist in belaying with a Grigri or similar assisted belay device. The assisted belay device will keep the part from bearing too much stress; however, as a 3D printed part it is not fit for use outside demonstration.
