Here is the basic steering system I use on my 1/6 scale SdKfz 250 from Armor Hobbies. It consists in 2 arms (one for each Wheel) linked to the servo arm. This system is made to work even with suspension thanks to the flexibility of the arms.
Can work with a basic servo arm but mine comes with another angle, much adapted to work on my vehicle.

The servo I use is an Aerostar AS-559MG
