There is no drilling required. It eliminates the separate power box and the wiring umbilical cord.
It improves the frame rigidness considerably. It adds 60 mm clearance at the top of the frame, so the hot end can print to the full 180 mm without hitting.
It eliminates the drag chain from the right Z-axis motor to the X axis mount above. It adds a drag chain to the hotbed, to reduce strain on the wiring.
