With a goal of eventually making a fan film set in 2399, I'm working on creating a new generation of Starfleet equipment. Based on the cover illustration for Star Trek Online, this is my idea of a post-TNG phaser.

As usual, I've allowed myself some artistic license in the design. I added a couple features such as an iron sight (something I found lacking in TNG phaser designs) and made the whole thing look more streamlined than the STO cover.
