I ordered a variac a while ago and when it arrived it had suffered some damage from shipping.
The front sheet metal was dented in pretty badly (I had already mostly straightened it out by the time I took the photos), and the insulator/standoff for the posts were damaged. One of them had been completely demolished, two others were cracked but still somewhat held together. Only one of the four original parts was undamaged.
