This filament sensor is designed to be printed in one part to be equiped with one of the makerbot style endstops. It detects if filament ran out while printing.

Mount this right before the extruder so the extruder can unload the filament when it is empty.

We developed this sensor for our 3Dator 3D printer kit. We also implemented the firmware for this. Filament swichtes are also supported in newer Marlin versions.
