Finally decided to deal with the making of a glare shield for my Garmin fish finder screen. After taking several measurements of the Garmin frame, I drew up a simple hood styled cover and then 3d printed it. The fit was good. For now I plan to either use velcro or double sided tape to to mount it to the Garmin.
UPDATE: A longer version of the hood was added as an option for those wanting to shield more of the screen.
