There are lots of fairly neat filament cleaners out there, but I put this together to fior my old RepRapPro (which is still doing great service!). Apart from the printed parts, you only need two 16mm M3 cap screws and two M3 nuts.

I've used the cleaner in a dry state, but there is a hole to allow you to moisten the sponge with a little mineral oil.
