I reinforced the tracks by making them slightly thicker and added some grooves and printable profiles. The profiles have two small cutouts, which I needed to compensate for some filament blobs that appear there on the grooves in the chain links. YMMV.
I printed my profiles in flexpla, which seems to help a lot with traction on smooth surfaces. To glue them to the PLA tracks, I tried various glues,
