I recreated this to hold a round magnet 10mm x 2mm. The magnet snapped in without any issues.

Changes:
Thickened the frame.
Added a hole for the magnet.
Trimmed the edge of the cover to meet better with the frame.
Took out the gap between the cover and the frame by trimming the stem from the frame and the cover.
