Cherry pitter with a spring mechanism

Our sour cherries (morello) were too small for the commercial cherry pitter and got mashed through its hole. If you try this on regular sweet cherries try scaling up 120% or so.

The version with a spring mechanism is actually useful if you need to pit a large amount of cherries, but the minimal hammer version is only a little better than a knife and is included merely because it is easier to print and illustrates the hammer mechanism.
