I did wanted a smoother operation of the Y-Axis belt and something a little more sturdy than the standard design, so I redesigned the idler to use a GT2 Idler bearing.
I included a small offset so the bearing would not bind against the idler sidewalls when tightened up.
I've used a M5 nut and bolt (24 mm) to secure the idler mount and GT2 together. The nut and bolt head are recessed a few mm to ensure a good solid fitting..
