Levitating Top

This levitating top uses repelling magnets to make a spinning top levitate. Repelling magnets are highly unstable, they need another force to keep them stable. The gyroscopic force of the spinning top is what keeps this stable. The base accommodates 13 1/2" x 1/8" disc magnets, while the top has a single 3/4" OD x 3/8" ID x 1/8" thick ring magnet.
