there are two methods to use it:
connect the table feet directly with each other or use the split version with a tabletop between - the small cap can also be enforcement if you used shortened feet and the wooden end is missing

insert a M8 hex nut in the middle hole and use 2 wood screws and screw them through the 2 holes into the wooden end of the foot

now insert a M8 threaded rod into the nut and push the nut all way up so there no gap remains
