40 MYA Coprolite, Ancient Turtle Feces Fossil

A coprolite is fossilized feces. The word “coprolite” comes from the Greek words Kopros Lithos, meaning “dung stone”. Basically coprolites are very old pieces of poop that have become fossilized over a very long time.

From the Eocene Epoch, about 40 million years ago, comes this piece of petrified sea turtle poop from Madagascar. High resolution scan.
