Lvl1 swords (with sockets!)

I designed and made these for my son and his best friend, as a bonus gift for the holidays.
The swords are cut in 3mm birch ply because I'm perpetually unprepared, and was out of 5mm ply again.
Due to the construction, they're actually really strong, though I suspect they'll get beaten up relatively quick.
The blade elements are glued and held together by 8mm wooden dowels.
I put (cheap) jade and (fake) jasper in the hilt sockets, because of the kids' favourite colours (thanks, bad eBay imp
