UPDATE:

I finally found time to setup my laser and engrave the DXF onto a test piece. I used a 4 / 9 mm drillbit and 20 / 25 mm forstner bits to drill the holes. The outer perimeter was cut on my bandsaw. Havent checked the fitting yet, but it looks alright.
