Ingress Pack -- iPhone 6+ in Otterbox Defender / Anker PowerCore II Slim

My old Anker Astro E3 battery started to swell a bit, so I replaced it. Anker no longer makes that model; it was replaced by the PowerCore II Slim.

However, this model only has one USB (output) port (the old battery had two), and the charging port and status button are in different locations. The original Ingress Pack (that this is remixed from) worked, but it was not possible to plug in the micro USB cable to charge the battery in the clip while the USB cable connected (see photos).
