This is a stand for a magnetic sheet that I made for my wife. The magnetic sheet slides down inside via a slot in the top of the holder. It is designed to hold these sheets: http://www.joann.com/artbin-3-magnetic-sheets-pack/11736048.html
You should be able to print it without supports.
If there is interest I can design a horizontal version.
