This is just a concept that I hope to do in wood. I will print this out first to see if everything works.
To take this to wood, you create a hexagonal cylinder the length of the block whose thickness is the same as the pine block. You need to leave material for the axles. Finally, you cut 22.5 degree miters in front of the font axle and behind the rear axle. You then flip the ends up and glue them back on.
