I wanted to print out this wand for a neighbour's kid, but the sharp point had me a little nervous.

This probably isn't all that much safer, but it's about 3.5mm across and rounded / blunted to it at least shouldn't go through skin or make holes in clothes as easily. - Eye protection should still probably be advised, or something.
