Birdy's Barber Shop Quartet Automaton

The birds in this cute barber shop quartet bob up and down and spin around, and the middle-right bird tips its hat! Offset cams and a crank mechanism allow for the spinning and lateral motion.

This automaton was created for a Solidworks course and used laser cut oak and birch as well as some clay-formed birds. Wire was used to create the legs and fishing line helps the hat to move.
