a very good solution for your raspberry PI.
You can adjust the output voltage (recommended from 5v to 5.25v)
Parts needed:
- Small PSU card 12v 2A
- LM2596 buck converter
- Voltmeter Digital Display Voltage Panel Meter 2 or 3 wires
- USB Type A Female Socket

For me 5,34V is optimal (end of the multicolored logo alert for a RPI3)
edit: after more adjustment 5,25V is perfect and more safe
