Factory roof rack and the rubber insert are noisy and easily lost at high speed. This replacement slides into the T groove so it cannot fly out. It also uses vortex generators inspired by the Mitsubishi Evo to reduce wind noise. It's sectional as well so as you change bike and ski racks seasonally you don't have to permanently cut and loose the factory rubber strips.
