I saw a video on YT of a fine gentleman who had a great, cheap way of housing a joystick on his office chair. This is my take. It will allow you to remove your controller, and use the chair reasonably without inconvenience.
Other than printing the arts you will need some sort of base for your stick, I used perspex I had spare. Wood would suffice also. You will also need some sort of metal flat bar. I bought the pictured one from Jewsons (UK) for about £6 and cut it down. https://www
