This is a remix of the dust suction unit designed for the Genmitsu 3018Prover by Versus3D.
The original is a fantastic design! I just found I needed a couple things it didn't offer.
First, I needed to connect my 1.25" shop vac directly BUT knew I would be moving to smaller cyclone vac soon, so I added a top piece that fits a 1.25 ID shop vac hose. It is secured with M3 flat head screws (but any M3 will work) directly into the plastic of the mount.
Second, with the crappy, "wet" MDF I have on had, I needed to get the suction closer to the surface of the material. So I created a version with 3 holes for flexible coolant hose. (The holes do need to be tapped and I found that 1/2-20 worked.) As the spindle moves closer to the surface, the hoses and soft tips flex without hanging up the operation. This part also works well in the reverse to cool material when using the laser.
I also created a modular version of Versus3D's original tube to use for "dryer" material.
