This is an octahedral structure made of catalan solid cells called rhombic dodecahedra. It fills 3D space with no gaps like hexagons fill 2D space. I couldn't find a lattice like this so I decided I'd model it. The exterior vertices are a bit rough but I couldn't find an easy solution to fix them.
