This is a set of proxy infantry for Ogre the Boardgame (5th or 6th Edition) or The Ogre Miniatures Game. Or even any other 6mm based sci-fi war-game.
The infantry are based on hexes, well because Ogre is a hex based game. The odd chevron shaped pieces join to the side of the hex pieces to represent 2 or 3 squad platoons. See the images. This means that the platoons take up less space. You could of course just use the hex pieces.
