August / September is the fruit fly period. Your kitchen can swarm of it in half a day, lasting for a week.... (Did you know the fruit fly is the most acrobatic insect in the air ? ) .

They are attracted to a lot of food, fruit included.

If you leave some wine in the glas, or stack some fruit in it, and put the trap on top, you will notice the flies approaching, walking to the holes, climb in ... and never get out again.
