A wafer is placed on top of it (attachments for 3 different diameters) and the semicircular part with handle is used to spread the gingerbread mass onto the gingerbread. Then you can lift the perfectly spread gingerbread with the handles at the bottom, reach under it with your fingers and place it on a baking tray.
