4L30e 3rd Clutch Drum Opening Tool

If you have ever tried to open one of these, you know why I made this, even with the factory tools it's hard to get open!

What you need to make this work is some nails cut to about 11mm in length, slide the collar down to the center of the oval openings, slip the nails into the holes in the collar, install a piston ring compressor (hose clamps might work), gently tighten compressor until snap ring is compressed, pry the drive out.
