Designed to not block the LEDs once installed. Clamp has a single layer connecting the 2 sides together, and screwing some small screws in will really clamp down onto the waterproof cover over the strip.
The 2 sides are slightly closer together than the size of the LED strip (10mm strip) so that they clamp nicely onto the strip
