Lathe Tailstock DRO

This is a digital readout for the tailstock ram of a lathe. It is based on an inexpensive carbon-fibre digital caliper.

The caliper body bracket is a complete replacement back part for the caliper and it attaches to the front of the tailstock with a pair of magnets.

The other part clamps around the taisltock ram. My ram is 1.25" diameter MT2 and it retracts a long way before ejecting the drill, so the clamp is designed to not need much of the ram to grip.
