Child Proof Stove Nob Cover Threaded

I have some similar child safety stove knob covers for a gas range at my house. Two of them have broken however and I wanted to try to make a replacement. They broke where they are hinged(when the oven door hit them). So this design can be removed and set on the counter, then reinstalled. I first tried to make it with pieces that snapped together, but the fit wasn't good enough to stop it from being removed by a child.
