Pin Pointer (Metal Detector) Bounty Hunter

For Christmas, I got a Bounty Hunter Metal Detector and Pin Pointer combo. Within 5 minutes of trying to get the pin pointer going with a 9V battery, the tab on the back of the pointer snapped and the battery casing wouldn't go back in. I noticed that the plastic on these things was horrible! The second tab snapped with only me flicking it. I figured the entire thing was made from crappy plastic.
