Mk 37 Torpedo

One of the first really modern anti-submarine torpedoes in the US Navy inventory. It was by the standards when first introduced an outstanding weapon to destroy late diesel and early Soviet submarines. It was, however, to slow to engage most surface ships. This made it necessary for our boats to carry both the Mk 37 and a loadout of WWII Mk 16 anti-surface weapons.
