Laptop (Samsung Chronos 7 - NP700Z5A) to desktop pc

After 6 years of good service my Samsung laptop was starting to overheat and to generally fall apart. When I bought it, it had been a high end, shiny aluminium and powerful machine. I was not ready to discard it, but in this state, it also didn't have much use.
So I decided to try to give it a new purpose as a desktop pc.
