I created a Rocketship Lamp using an RGB Led Ring and ESP8266/Wemos D1 Mini board for wifi.
It uses a 16 Led WS2812B 5V ring with OD of 45mm like the one below, but others should work as well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078YKQKX3
The controller is a Wemos D1 Mini and is hooked to the leds using Pin 3 and FastLED library to control the leds. The Wemos board runs an ESP8266 or ESP8285 chip and allows for easy control of the lamp over WiFi. Only minimal soldering is needed to attach t
