First lets start off with the base's shape; the shape is aerodynamic because of the harsh winds in Mars a building would have to be shaped to cut wind rather then hold wind, the base's shape is resembles to that of an airplane wing cause the wings cut though air. For safety reasons the base does have a pole on the bottom where a hole can be dug to keep it from pushing away; and if that was not enough the base is also chained down by both ends so flying away is not an option (inspiration from MT.
