I created a very tiny elegant iphone desk stand with charging possibility. You put your phone with or without cover in the stand, both fits. In the vertical position the angle of the stand is optimal for video calls, reading messages or news.

Nothing reaches into the visible display area (designed for iPhone 7/8).
