I created this model to help with taking pictures for designing custom parts for curved or oddly shaped objects. When I used to take pictures and model from them, I noticed lens distortion, especially with phone cameras. To address this, I designed a simple calibration square. Here’s how to use it:Place your object in the center of the square.Scale the square up or down as needed.Use perspective warp in Photoshop (or another tool) to adjust the image to fit the corners of the square.or even just import this model into Fusion 360 as a reference and use the Calibrate function to align the picture of the square to the modelThe square is exactly 50mm on all sides on the outside and 44mm on the inside. Feel free to use this square to judge the accuracy down to the millimeter when printing. This process will give you a perfectly even image for your design work.
