This is a 3D printer air filter enclosure designed in Openscad. It was designed around the Lowes: Shop-Vac 5-Gallon Cartridge Filter (195mm dia of rubber ring) which has a solid plastic backing on one side and open on the other. This was also designed around a spare 120mm 12v PC fan that I had sitting around. The 12v fan sits in the 3D printed housing and creates a vacuum in a 1 1/4" shop vac hose (also available at Lowes). The bottom ring of the 3D printed housing sits on the rubber sealing ring of the shop vac filter.
NOTE: updated scad program to work with the customizer
NOTE: this design as it is, needs a printer capable of printing a 190mm ring (base of air filter enclosure)
The other end of the vacuum hose attaches to the foam-board enclosure you build around your 3D printer (using the 1 1/4" hose connectors supplied in the 8' Lowes shop-vac hose item).
I have gotten several ABS spools in the past that had really strong chemical odor and released tiny nano-particle
